Golden Guide

The Golden Guide is a programme for senior citizens over the age of 55. It aims at enabling members to retrieve more opportunities to participate in community activities and enhance their sense of belonging to our society.

Members have regular unit meetings. During unit meetings, Group Leader will organize different activities for members, for example, community services, excursions, community visits, handicraft and homecare skills. All the above activities are based on Eight Point Programme.

All Members Currently, the shirt for leaders has 2 styles – solid green colour with scarf and green/white strip colour without scarf. Although production of strip colour shirt had been stopped some years ago, the shirt is still recognized as formal uniform, hoping that it will fade out after some time. At the All Commissioners Meeting held on 20 September 2014, Commissioners unanimously agreed that, in order to standard the uniform and to enhance the image of Girl Guiding, the solid green shirt with scarf will be the only style for formal uniform. Members should not wear the strip shirt starting from 1 January 2015.
